Bike Tour in Franciacorta - Brescia

Take three friends, who cannot be called cyclists, as they are not the type of cyclists, but who love life, being together in loyalty, the beauty of nature, the good food and a sincere and not superficial conversation.

Take the favorable weather of this October 3, 2019, which was sunny, cool and with a slight breeze not bad at all.

Consider that there is the Oglio park right there, or rather a few pedal away, which invites us to cross it and here is the formula for a really beautiful and fulfilling day.

Bike tour in Franciacorta

So the 35 km that took us from Francesco Mognetti's workshop in Palazzolo sull'Oglio (BS) to the restaurant "La Madonnina" in Orzinuovi saw us ride through the fields, through the villages and farmsteads enjoying a few hours very pleasant and invigorating. Actually, without the more than perfect knowledge of the entire route by Francesco, who has consolidated the habit... it would have been easy to get lost.

Describing the path is a sin. You have to pedal over it. Medium difficulty (in my subjective opinion), more suitable for bikes with wide wheels and/or mountain bikes, with slight differences in height and some difficult climbs that most people can do.

It meanders, it is not a linear path and the river crosses, joins, can be glimpsed and crossed more than once along with canals and irrigation ditches. However, you will not get bored, the natural landscapes and cultivated fields offer a constantly changing view that results in a pleasant synthesis of colors, shapes, things, plants and animals.

The small chapel on the way is worthy of  historical note and recalls the battle of Rudiano won by the people of Brescia over the people of Cremona and Bergamo on 1 July 1901.

On the way back

Our bike route in Franciacorta is coming to an end and the return trip was almost more pleasant than the trip we did before. A total of seven hours including stops and a meal that flew away in sympathy, putting the rhythm of the heart in sync with that of the pedal.

But dear Francesco Mognetti, why should we be the only ones to enjoy these beautiful cycle paths?  Considering your undisputed technical competence in cycling and that, as for the route, you practically play at home, try to organize also for other people wishing to have these beautiful experiences!

See you next time,

Nino e Gianni
